Just realized that I haven't post shit here in a long time, nor have I been checking friend's lists.

Since I'm part of the dark side that is myspace (http://www.myspace.com/lemoicavalier) I think I'm just going to delete this bit of americana... After all must of my close friends are using myspace now. The ones that are still posting here I'm probably just going to RSS their blogs.

But first I think that I'm going go thru all of this journal's entries and save the must "memorable moments" as pdfs or something. There is some good shit here that I want to be able to read when and if I reach 50 :)

It's quite a few years of posts, and lots of entries... So I'm sure I'm going to be around for a few days.

As per my doctor's orders I'm suppoused to drink beer... Lots of it.

I have either a kidney infection or kidney stones... I'll find out in 3 days what it is. Either way I'm suppoused to pee a lot, and there is no better way to do so then drinking beer.

This is the second time in my life that I'm affected by an illness with a cool treatment. The 1st time was when I was a kid and got Hepatitis A... Doctor recommended eating lots and lots of candy. On top of that I didn't have to go to school for a whole week :D

I was going thru some boxes and I found a can of "Super Cold 134 Plus"... Good times ahead :)

Finally! City of Heroes is offering a free trial. We've been asking for this for almost a year!

There they have instruction on how to get a code and where to download the client... It may take a while, we're talking about the game and 4 Free Expantion Packs (+1 GB of data)

While surfing around I found Underworld MMORPG (http://underworld.wecometoplay.com).

Very fascinating game. If everything goes as they plan, close beta will beggin by the end of the year, open beta by May '06, and finally the game will be released sometime during 2007/'08. There are a few things that they promise that I can't wait to see:

- High polygon count characters (15k+ polygons) A few examples:

Right now developing something like this for an online game is almost imposible, I'm sure that's why they're waiting a couple of years (Not hard software wise, the hardware is the problem)

- One World, One Server. No mirrors, no "dimentions", no multiple servers. Everything and everybody is going to co-exist within the same server. The best thing about this is that they can actually create "Universal Events". This is something that I have to see it to believed! It has been promised many a times before. The latest, sadest example is the now death "Wish Online"

- Permadeath! They have a really good article (http://www.neopangaia.org/nation/content/view/32/33/). Even after that, permadeath implemented into actual gaming is something that I have to see. What happen after you die (If you're not a character that could be pema-killed) is interested, too.

- Weather! Ok... Weather is not that new, and in fact many MMO games have a weather system already! But the difference here is that weather is actually going to affect game play (And maybe even appearence if they implement the tanning system they're talking about)
Right now this is something must games try to avoid (Not that the technology isn't there, it's because of the gamers)
Rain is going to lower range and accuracy, sun light is going to kill vampires, fire uses are going to have a hard time creating fire spells when there is snowing and ice users are going to have a hard time doing anything when in Hades, etc, etc.

- Sex and adult situations. That's right! This game is actually going to allow characters to have sex. The game is not about sex (I guess they're leaving that to the nipones and their hentai video games), but it's going to have sexual elements. You're going to be able to buy houses, and aparently being inside of a private room gives you extra options.

Anyways, enough geeking around :)
